Estelle Marie (Weitkamp) Kaiser, age 94, of Holland

Estelle Marie (Weitkamp) Kaiser, age 94, of Holland, Indiana, passed away at 10:12 p.m., on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born November 9, 1924, in Zoar, Indiana, to Louis and Viola (Ingram) Weitkamp.  Estelle graduated from Stendal High School in 1941.  She married Harold “Boom” Kaiser on June 20, 1946.  Boom and Estelle were co-owners and founders of Boom’s Café where Estelle was known for her homemade pies.  They also operated The Holland Dairy Barn and Kaiser’s Café.  Estelle was also previously employed at The Jasper Country Club, Holland Industries and Katter’s Grocery Store in Stendal.

She enjoyed watching Indiana University Basketball.  She also liked cooking for her family and visiting with family and friends.  Estelle was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold “Boom” Kaiser, who passed away February 4, 1983; one brother, Floyd Weitkamp; and three sisters, Luana (Harold) Walker, Norma (Everett) McAllister and Opal (Letcher) Leingang.

Estelle is survived by three children, Phyllis (Lloyd) Hunefeld of Sellersburg, Joe (Lim) Kaiser of San Diego, CA and Mark Kaiser of Holland who was also her caregiver; three granddaughters, April (Monty) Stewart, Amber (Kevin) McNew and Rachel Kaiser; by six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Estelle Kaiser will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Holland with burial to follow at the church cemetery.  Pastor Debbie Roe will officiate at the service.

 Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00-7:00 p.m., on Monday; and also at the church from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Tuesday morning.  Memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ.
