Dorothy M. Dudine, age 97 of Jasper

Dorothy M. Dudine, age 97 of Jasper, IN, passed away at 11:20am on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the St. Augustine Retirement Home in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Dorothy was born in Jasper, Indiana on August 8, 1920 to Frank and Cecelia (Bockelman) Eckerle.  She married Roman A. Dudine on November 14, 1944 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.  He preceded her in death on October 27, 2006.

After graduating from Jasper High School, she was employed at The Jasper Novelty Works, Modernbuilt Homes, Ruxer Garage, and retired from Jasper Engine & Transmission.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, the Daughters of Isabella and the St. Ann’s Society. 

She enjoyed playing cards all her life and was dedicated to her family and proud to be from Jasper.  She and her husband were very involved in the Jasper High School music program and traveled with the band and their children wherever they performed. 

Surviving are one son, Don (Linda), Magnet, IN and three daughters, Anne Maas (Steve), Cincinnati, OH, Jane Fischer (Charles), Indianapolis, and Margaret Wente (Bob), Indianapolis, five grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. 

Preceding her in death beside her husband were three sisters, Pearl Lorey, Francis Dischinger and Augusta Wagner; and five brothers, Harold, Alphonse, Leonard, Karl, and Eddie Eckerle.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy M. Dudine will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, IN, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time on Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor (Indianapolis), Sisters of Providence (www.spsmw.org), St. Joseph Catholic Church, or a favorite charity.
