Dennis “Moe” Ash, 67, of Loogootee

Dennis “Moe” Ash, 67, of Loogootee, passed away at 2:55 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at his home.

He was born November 19, 1950 in Washington, Indiana to Rita L. (Holland) Ash and the late John M. Ash.

Denny married Barbara (Ellis) Ash on January 1^st, 1972 and she survives.

He started his career at the White River Co-Op in May of 1970. He faithfully worked at the White River Co-Op and held various positions until his retirement in 2011.

Denny was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and previously a member of St. Mary Barr Township Catholic Church. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, coyote hunting, mushroom hunting and gardening. He enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, John M. Ash and his sister, Linda Hays.

Denny is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara (Ellis) Ash of Loogootee; daughter, Becky (Tom) Gates of Fishers; grandchildren, Addy and Landon Gates; mother, Rita Ash of Loogootee; siblings, Tom (Anita) Ash, Tim (Becky) Ash, Marijo (Charlie) Kane, all of Washington, Pat (Sue) Ash of Montgomery, and Bill (Nancy) Ash of Cannelburg; brother-in-law, Warren Hays of Loogootee; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and one great-great nephew.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in St. Mary Barr Township Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 15, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Barr Township Cemetery Fund.
