Delphia Sendelweck, age 83, of Jasper

Delphia Sendelweck, age 83, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society- Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper, Indiana.
 
Delphia  was born in Loogootee, Indiana, on March  27, 1936, to Orian and Ora (Parsons) Hembree.  She married John Sendelweck on June 8, 1957 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Haysville, IN. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2011.
 
Delphia babysat for over 30 years and was a homemaker.  She was a member of WELCA and St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana.
 
She volunteered at Good Samaritan Retirement Community for many years where she won, "Volunteer of the Year Award in 2004."
  
She enjoyed traveling on cruises and bus tours. She especially enjoyed her trip to LA where she attended a live showing of her favorite game show, "The Price is Right." She had a passion for playing cards, going to dances, shopping, and spending time with friends and family.
 
Surviving are: three daughters,  Ann Sendelweck, Huntingburg, IN, Arlene (Jeff) Luker, Jasper, IN, Tara (Travis) Roach, Jasper, IN, Three Sons, Randy Sendelweck, Evansville, IN,  Richard Sendelweck, Jasper, IN,
Ron Sendelweck, Jeffersonville, IN. Six Grandchildren: Lauren Nigg, Newburgh, IN Karissa Luker, Jeffersonville, IN, Emma Luker, Jasper, IN, Faith Sendelweck, Evansville, IN, Dakota and Devon Roach both of Jasper, One step-grandson, Matthew Luker, Celestine, IN, and family friend,  Lorenzo Vaiardi, Italy, and companion Stanley Letterman, Jasper, IN.
Two Great-grandchildren and one on the way. Three step great-grandsons. One sister, Lucille Fuhrman, Loogootee, IN, One brother, Norman Hembree, Carlisle, IN.
 
Preceding her death besides her husband are, eight sisters;  Mary  Hembree, Melva Simmons, Sylvia  Keller, Edith Ziegler, Ora Taylor, Crystal Dyal, Veda Chambers, Velma Wening, and four brothers;  Alvin, Ernie, Woody, and Bub Hembree.
 
Funeral services for Delphia Sendelweck will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2019, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Pastor Tim Holt will officiate.
 
A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday December 22, 2019 at the Becher Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, IN and  from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Monday.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Good Samaritan Society-Northwood Retirement Community, and Heart to Heart Hospice.
