Deborah A. Mendel, age 80, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 1:24 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2020, at the Villas of Guerin Woods in Georgetown, Indiana.
Deborah was born in Jasper, Indiana, on May, 9 1940, to Bernard and Valdena (Love) Kunz. She married Richard Mendel on October 26, 1961, in Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.
She was a 1958 graduate of Jasper High School.
In her earlier years, Deborah worked at the Dubois County Bank and was an office clerk for Holiday Foods for several years.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.
Deborah enjoyed playing bingo, cards, puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Richard Mendel, of Corydon, IN (formerly of Jasper); one daughter; Cheri (Randy) Corley, Floyds Knobs, IN, three sons; Brian (Denise) Mendel, Frisco, CO, Scott (Jori) Mendel, La Jolla, CA and Roger (Jennifer) Mendel, Medina, MN, nine grandchildren and three step-grandchildren, three sisters; Mary Jo Dippel, Sharon Loughmiller, Karen Smith and three brothers; Bernard Kent, Ronald and Gerald Kunz.
Preceding her in death is one sister Vivian Seng.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Deborah A. Mendel will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2020, in Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required.
A visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. service time at the church on Saturday, November 7th.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, or to a favorite charity.
