Darlene Ruth Nord, age 63 of Jasper

Darlene Ruth Nord, age 63 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2020 at home surrounded by loved ones.
 
Darlene was born in Huntingburg, Indiana on December 9, 1956 to Floyd and Agnes (Brown) Epple of New Boston, Indiana.  She was united in marriage to Larry Nord on May 19, 1984 in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church.  
 
She worked for Masterbrand Cabinets in Jasper and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper
 
She loved spending time outside, her garden of tomatoes and flower gardens, visiting with friends, and a friendly game of cards.
 
Darlene fought and beat cancer twice in the last two years.  It may have claimed her body, but it never laid a hand on her indomitable spirit.  To Darlene, the truth was something to be spoken and not manipulated.  She never felt sorry for herself and always put her family first.
 
Darlene is survived by her loving husband Larry, and her wonderful daughters, Nicole Nord of Evansville and Jade Nord at home, eight siblings; her twin sister Diane Berger (David), Perry County, sisters; Mary Divich (Steve), Valparaiso, IN, and Dorothy Childers (Dave), Mitchell, IN, brothers; Cletus Epple (Joann), Valparaiso, IN, Dennis Epple (Linda), Pittsburgh, PA, Donald Epple (Pam), Branchville, IN, Ronald Epple (Linda), Indianapolis, and Larry Epple (Karen), Ferdinand, and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Darlene Nord will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
 
A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at the Becher Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, and from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. mass time at the church on Wednesday. The Holy Family Parish will pray the rosary at 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
