Charles L. "Pete" Armstrong, age 82, of Jasper

Charles L. "Pete" Armstrong, age 82, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 9:05 a.m. on Sunday, December 9, 2018, at home.
 
Pete was born in Ireland, Indiana, on August 28, 1936, to Milton and Geneva (Kearby) Armstrong.  He married Mary Ann Herzog on September 27, 1958, in Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.
 
Pete retired from Kimball and also previously worked for JOFCO and delivered for meals on wheels for many years.
 
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.
 
He was a great athlete in his younger years, where he was a star basketball and baseball player at Ireland High School.
 
Pete enjoyed watching sports, playing cards,  going fishing, and watching westerns.  He loved the St. Louis Cardinals and the Indiana Hoosiers. 
 
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Armstrong, Jasper, IN, two daughters, Nan (Jack) Armstrong, and Kim Armstrong, both of Jasper, IN, two grandchildren, Cody (Jason) Schnell and Tess (Jordan) Kempf, four great grandchildren, Carly and Cash Schnell and Austin and Cort Kempf, three sisters, Judy Crane, Palmdale, California, Esther (Kenny) Grundhoeffer, Evansville, IN, and Linda Beard, Jasper, IN.
 
Preceding him in death are two sisters, Hilma Stenftenagel and Lillian Eckert, and four brothers, Lester, Howard, and Donald Armstrong, and one who died in infancy.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial for Charles L. "Pete" Armstrong will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2018, in Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Ireland, Indiana.
 
A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m.  service time at the church on Thursday.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion Cemetery Fund, or to a favorite charity.
