Charles L. " Charlie" Berg, age 72 of St. Anthony
Charles L. " Charlie" Berg, age 72 of St. Anthony, Indiana, passed away at 12:40 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Brookside Village in Jasper.
Charlie was born in St. Anthony, Indiana on September 1, 1946 to Clarence and Frieda (Schnell) Berg. He married Eloise R. Hopster on July 2, 1966 in St. Anthony Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on October 4, 2018.
Charlie was co-owner and operator of Berg's Garage in St. Anthony for many years.
He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish - St. Anthony Catholic Church, and the St. Anthony Conservation Club, where he served as a past treasurer.
He enjoyed his career, spending time at his cabin, and spending time with friends and family.
Surviving are two daughters, Shelly Wilgus (Ron), Schnellville, Kristy Bayer (Brian), Schnellville, four grandchildren, Kyle and Jared Wilgus, and Trent and Taylor Bayer, one sister, Mary Frey, and two brothers, Larry Berg (Alene), and Thomas Berg (June), all of St. Anthony.
Preceding him in death beside his wife were his parents, one sister, Betty Ann Berg, and one brother, Richard Berg.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Charles L. Berg will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, and from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. service time on Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Divine Mercy Parish, or to a favorite charity.
