Carl Dean “Red” Combs, 58, of Loogootee

Carl Dean “Red” Combs, 58, of Loogootee, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Daviess County Hospital, Washington.

Born October 6, 1962, in Letcher County, Kentucky, he was the son of Alex (Edna Mae) Combs and Brenda (Sergent) Combs.
He married Jacqueline Wiscaver on April 28, 1984, and she survives.

Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline; two sons, Carlton and William Combs; three daughters, Deanna Asbury, Carly Moss, and Sheena Combs; seven grandchildren; sisters, Vivian Ann Gabriel, Sandra Emmons, Nancy Asbell, Jenny Bates, and Frances Cook; brothers, Wayne Combs, Bobby Combs, Jim Combs, Charlie Haulk, Mark Combs, Alex Ishamel Combs, Fee Bates, Shannon Combs, and Bud Bates; and special friends, Jonas and Owen Graber, and Brian Wagler.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Rene.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at the Queen-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, with Pastor Jim Lily officiating. Burial will be in Goodwill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. Wednesday and from 11 until the service hour on Thursday at the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to set up a trust fund for future expenses.
