Betty J. Kempf, age 81, of Jasper

Betty J. Kempf, age 81, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 7:07 a.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2020, at home.
 
Betty was born in Jasper, Indiana, on September 6, 1939, to Lawrence and Clarissa (Messmer) Hochgesang.  She married her husband of almost 63 years, Eugene Kempf on November 28, 1957, in Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.
 
In addition to caring for her own children, Betty helped raise dozens of other children as a childcare provider for over 40 years.
 
Betty was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, Jasper German Club, and the Hoosier Campers Club.
 
Betty and Gene loved to travel, and they travelled the country from coast to coast, and Germany twice.  She also enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing cards, especially Sheepshead.
 
Surviving are her husband, Gene Kempf, Jasper, Indiana, eight children, Eugene (Sheila) Kempf, Eckerty, IN, Donna (John) Krampe, Evansville, IN, Geralynn (Charlie) Smalling, Evansville, IN, William (Sheila) Kempf, Evansville, IN, Mark (Ellen) Kempf, English, IN, Gary Kempf, Haysville, IN, Lisa (Jon) Hubers, Evansville, IN, Jill (Tim) Oeding, Newburgh, IN, 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, one sister, Shirley (Clarence) Rottet, Jasper, IN, and one sister-in-law and life-long friend, Sue (Charlie) Kempf, St. Anthony, IN.
 
A private family visitation for Betty J. Kempf and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Schnellville, Indiana.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, or Sacred Heart Church Cemetery in Schnellville, Indiana.
