Alvina E. Knust, age 98, of Schnellville

Alvina E. Knust, age 98, of Schnellville, Indiana, passed away at 1:25 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2019, in Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana. 

Alvina was born in Schnellville, Indiana, on April 28, 1921, to Theodore and Clara (Boeglin) Schnell.  She married Leo E. "Pud" Knust on May 7, 1946, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, Indiana.  He preceded her in death on October 23, 2013. Alvina was a homemaker, a cook for the Southeast School Corporation for several years, and was previously a 4-H leader. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish - Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, Indiana, St. Ann's Society, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Schnellville Home Economics Club, and the Schnellville Community Club. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed canning, baking, sewing, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Surviving are five daughters, Susie (Jack) Larson, Crawfordsville, IN, Mary (Bill) Winters, Schnellville, IN, Martha (Randy) McCaffry, Boonville, IN, Monica "Rosie" (Jeff) Endres, Indianapolis, IN, Annette (Dave) Schuetter, Schnellville, IN, two sons, Ed (Kathy) Knust and John "Pudder" Knust, both of Schnellville, IN, 14 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death besides her husband, are one granddaughter, Audrey Knust, two sisters, Eileen Nelson, Anna Mae Haury, and one brother, Arnold Schnell. 

A Mass of Christian Burial for Alvina E. Knust will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2019 at the Becher-KluesnerNorth Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, and one hour before services from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday.  The St. Ann's Society will pray a rosary at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Cemetery Fund or to a favorite charity.
