YOUTH ART MONTH AT THE THYEN-CLARK CULTURAL CENTER

Jasper- The artwork of students from throughout Dubois County will be featured at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center during Youth Art Month.

March is YOUTH ART MONTH in Indiana and nationally. The Art Education Association of Indiana and the National Education Association have chosen March as a time to recognize and celebrate the creativity and artistic talents of our children. Art organizations and art educators are asked to come together to help local communities highlight art education this month. In this spirit, Jasper Community Arts will be hosting the Annual “Youth Art” Exhibit from March 2 – 29, 2023, at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center with support from Universal Design Associates, Inc.

This year’s exhibit will be showcasing artwork by area High School and Elementary school students simultaneously in two galleries. Participating in the display are: Jasper High School, Southridge High School, Forest Park High School and Northeast Dubois High School. The second gallery will feature local Elementary schools which are: Cedar Crest Intermediate, Northeast Dubois Intermediate, Jasper Elementary, Holy Trinity Elementary, Pine Ridge Elementary, Ferdinand Elementary, Ireland Elementary, Huntingburg Elementary, Holland Elementary and Christ Our Advocate Memorial Academy.

The galleries at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center, located at 100 3rd Avenue, Suite A, Jasper, IN 47546, are open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5 pm, Saturday from 10:00 am to 2 pm and Sunday from noon to 3 pm. School groups, clubs and students are welcome. Admission is free.
