“We’ve had very successful events the past three years. We would like to continue this growth and make each year bigger and better” said Amy Goebel & Melanie Arehart, event organizers. “All of us have been affected by cancer in one way or another. We wanted to do our part, however small, to bring awareness to Wigs for Kids and ease the burden for a fighter, especially a child. These hairpieces are special, and allow children to continue to do their day to day activities (including swimming!) with more confidence.”

Wigs for Kids requires 12 inches or more of hair to be donated. New this year, Gray hair IS accepted. Hair cannot be processed (color treated). For a $20 donation, donors will receive a new look (minus 12 inches of hair!) a t-shirt and a goody bag. Giveaways will also be conducted throughout the day.

The hairpieces are customized for each child, hand-tied and made entirely of human hair.Wigs for Kids also ensures the hairpieces look just like a child’s own hair. The organization serves to educate the medical community and the public on the issues, challenges and available options for these children.
