WATCH: Gov. Holcomb Announces Free Metal Detection Wands For Hoosier Schools

STATEWIDE -- Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb announced plans Monday to provide metal detection wands to schools that want them, at no cost.

The governor says, while the detectors will be made available to any school that wants them, he wants to final decisions about school security to come from the local school corporations.

In the last legislative session, state lawmakers approved $35 million dollars in loans for schools to secure their buildings in the wake of school shootings across the country, Including one in Noblesville, Indiana.
