Wanted Person, Stolen Vehicles, and Drugs located During ISP Investigation in Washington County

Washington County: On Monday, August 23, 2021, Investigators from the Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section (DES), the Sellersburg Post All Crimes Policing squad (ACP), and the Salem Police Department, made several arrests after conducting a search on a rural Washington County property.  

The investigation began when a DES investigator received information of a possible wanted subject hiding out at 1977 South Blue River Road near Salem. As part of the investigation, officers obtained a search warrant which they served on around 9:30 Monday morning. After officers arrived, Terry R. Daffron, 55, of New Albany, ran out the back door of a camper located in a wooded area on the property and attempted to flee into the woods. ISP K9 "Riggs" was released and assisted in successfully apprehending Daffron a short time later. Daffron was wanted on several warrants, including a Class B Felony Rape charge from Crawford County. 

Several people were located on the property, as well as a stolen camper, a stolen car, methamphetamine, and approximately a pound of marijuana.  

As a result of the investigation, the following arrests were made.  

Terry Ray Daffron, 55, New Albany, IN:  

  1.  Possession of Methamphetamine - Level 6 Felony. 
  2. Possession of Stolen Property (camper) - Level 6 Felony.
  3. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Class C Misdemeanor.
  4. Resisting Law Enforcement - Class A Misdemeanor.

Daffron was wanted on the following warrants. Crawford County: Rape - Class B Felony, Clark County: Probation Violation, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Resisting Law Enforcement, Possession of Paraphernalia, Escape - Level 6 Felony, Domestic Battery - Level 6 Felony, and Intimidation - Level 6 Felony.

Hannah Marie Rueff, 23, New Albany, IN:  

  1. Possession of Methamphetamine - Level 6 Felony
  2. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - C Misdemeanor
  3. Possession of Stolen Property (camper) - Level 6 Felony

Thomas A. Edwards, 42, Salem, IN:   

  1. Possession of Methamphetamine - Level 6 Felony
  2. Maintaining a Common Nuisance - Level 6 Felony
  3. Possession of Stolen Property (car) - Level 6 Felony
  4. Possession of Marijuana - Class B Misdemeanor
  5. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia -C Misdemeanor 

Megan Rae Thompson, 36, Salem, IN: 


  1.  Possession of Methamphetamine - Level 6 Felony
