INDIANAPOLIS -- Vice President and former Hoosier Governor Mike Pence is planning to fly back to his hometown in Indiana this afternoon after the new administration is sworn in.

Pence is planning to attend the inauguration before returning to Indiana.

He won’t be attending president Trump’s farewell festivities at Andrews Airforce Base this morning.

A small welcoming party of about 50 or so invitees will greet Pence upon his arrival back in the Hoosier State around 3 p.m.

U.S. Rep. Greg Pence is organizing the event.
