UPDATE: New Details Released in Jasper Vandalism Case

FROM LOCAL SOURCES

JASPER -- Police in Jasper have arrested two people in connection to spray-painted graffiti on walls at two Jasper stores this week.

Investigators say a 17-year-old male is responsible for spray painting slogans like "I can't breath" (misspelled), "Black Lives Matter", "Justice for Floyd and "Change Must Come" on the exterior walls and sidewalks of Walmart and IGA in Jasper.

Police say a second person, 20-year-old Morgan Decker, purchased the spray paint for the teen knowing it would be used to vandalize property, but they say she was not present when it happened.  She’s charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.

The teen is being charged with two counts of Criminal Mischief.  His name is not being released since he is a minor.

Similar acts of vandalism were discovered at the Riverwalk as well.  Investigators do not believe these two suspects were involved in that case.
