EVANSVILLE -- The University of Southern Indiana has released a statement regarding the weekend shooting of a student at an off-campus party.

That house lies just north of the USI campus.

Authorities say the female was shot but has non-life threatening injuries.

USI officials say the home is not on property owned by the University.

The statement went on to say university leaders understand there may have been students present at the time of the shooting.

The Dean of Students is working to identify those students and offer support services.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office.
