Traffic Stop Lands Two Men in Jail on Meth, Other Drug Charges

LOOGOOTEE -- Two people are in jail today on multiple felonies.

A state trooper pulled a vehicle over on Highway 50 near Loogootee for a vehicle and moving violation.

During an inventory of the vehicle, troopers found several pills and meth.  Investigators were also able to get a search warrant for 40-year-old Nicholas Guy’s home in Martin County.

A search there turned up more meth, digital scales, paraphernalia and pot.

A person in the home was also arrested.  He’s identified as 35-year-old Russell Peek.

Both men are charged with felony possession of meth and maintaining a common nuisance.  They also face misdemeanor marijuana and paraphernalia charges.

Guy is additionally charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
