Traffic Stop Lands Jasper Man in Jail on Multiple Charges Including a Felony

From Local Sources

JASPER -- A Jasper man is in jail today following a traffic stop Thursday afternoon.

Police stopped Derion Fisher at 14th and Mill Streets around 3:00 p.m. for an expired registration.

Arrest reports show Fisher first continued at a high rate of speed.  When officers finally got him to pull over, they say Fisher got out of the vehicle and placed his hand into his pocket.

Deputies were eventually able to get the handcuffs on, but the man continued yelling and aggressively pushing his body towards the officer.

They had to take the suspect to the ground.  Officers learned Fisher never had a license to drive.

He’s charged with Felony Resisting Law Enforcement With a Vehicle and misdemeanor Resisting, Disorderly Conduct and Operating Without Ever Receiving a License.
