PERRY COUNTY – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a complete road closure on State Road 70 near the Derby community for a drainage structure replacement.
Beginning on or around Monday, Jan. 27, contractors will close S.R. 70 from the intersection of S.R. 37 to the intersection of S.R. 66 at Derby. The point of closure will be about a mile east of Tiger Road. During this project, workers will excavate and replace a large drainage culvert.
The closure is expected to last for about a week depending upon weather conditions. Inclement weather could cause delays or rescheduling, depending upon the severity of the weather conditions.
During the closure, the road will be completely closed to through traffic around the clock; however, local residents will have access up to the point of closure. All others should use the official detour route following S.R. 37, S.R. 237, and S.R. 66.
INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
