Town of Ferdinand Reopens Parks Today With COVID-Related Restrictions in Place

FERDINAND -- Town officials in Ferdinand are reopening parks starting today, but there are some ground rules those officials want you to follow....

General best practices:

Wear a mask when in public spaces and social distancing cannot be maintained
Stay at home if you are sick or do not feel well or have a fever
Stay at home if you have tested positive or await a test result
Stay at home if you have been identified as a close contact to someone who has tested positive
Stay at home if you are considered at risk due to an underlying health condition
Use social distancing and main at least six feet between individuals in all areas of the park.
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then throwing the tissue in the trash.
Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
Use hand sanitizer
Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
Drinking fountains will not be made available until after health restrictions are lifted.

Upper and Lower restrooms will be available
Upper and Lower shelter houses will be available for gatherings of up to 250 people
Playgrounds will be open **see above best practices**
Basketball court will open **see above best practices**
Volleyball pits will be open **see above best practices**
Horseshoe pits will be open **see above best practices**
Softball field will be available. Usage will be dependent on leased activities
Disc golf course remains open
Walking path remains open
