Three-Vehicle Jasper Wreck Results in Estimated $125,000 of Damage

Jasper - A Monday evening major vehicle collision temporarily shut down US 231 and Wernsing Road and resulted in over $100,000 in damages.


At approximately 6:22 p.m. Monday night, Jasper Police Officers were dispatched to US Highway 231 near the 4th Avenue Intersection for a "major accident", per the updates.

Upon investigation, a north-bound silver Dodge Ram crossed the center line, striking a southbound 2001 Freightliner towing a white box trailer. Upon impact, the Freightliner and trailer jackknifed causing a secondary collision with a black GMC Sierra.

A total estimate of $125,000 in damages occurred in the incident, including $90,000 to the Freightliner and trailer.

No injuries were reported at the scene; nor was anyone involved transported from the scene by Emergency Medical Services.

No charges or citations have been issued at this time.
