STATEWIDE -- Indiana is expected to receive doses of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.

The Indiana State Department of Health expects the state's first shipment this week. The Hoosier state is set to receive over 53-thousand doses of the newly-approved vaccine.

Twenty-thousand of those doses are expected by mid-week.

The Johnson & Johnson shot was approved by the FDA last week -- making the third vaccine available for distribution in the United States.
