The High School Football Coach Who Suffered Stroke at a Friday Night Game Has Died

CAMPBELLSBURG -- A high school football coach from southern Indiana has died. 

West Washington High School head football coach, and athletic director, Phillip Bowsman died Monday afternoon. 

Bowsman suffered a stroke near the end of Friday night's Class 1A semi-state championship at Indianapolis Lutheran, and was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Indy. 

Because of complications, he was taken off a ventilator Monday, and died at 1:19 p.m.  He was an organ donor. 

Classes at West Washington were canceled Monday, and will be again today.
