Tell City Woman Killed in Crash on Indiana 37 Friday Night

PERRY COUNTY -- One person is dead following a crash Friday night on Indiana 37 in Perry County.

It happened just before 6:37 p.m. Friday near the Morgan Ridge turnoff.

Both drivers had to be cut out of their vehicles and were transported to area hospitals.

51-year-old Sharon James of Tell City died Saturday evening at University of Louisville Hospital from her injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle, 29-year-old James Brownlee of Tell City was taken to Owensboro Hospital.  His condition is unknown at this hour.

Police believe Brownlee crossed the center line and hit James’ vehicle head-on.  No word today on what caused that driver to cross into the other lane.
