Special Weather Statement Issued For Dubois & Surrounding Counties Friday Morning

BY: DAVID SHEPHERD, NEWS DIRECTOR / FORECASTER

JASPER -- We have a little snow out there in parts of the area this morning.

Because of that, the National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for Dubois and surrounding counties.

Precipitation began as a mix of rain and snow before daybreak, but temperatures are cooling enough in some areas to turn that more to a light to moderate snow at times.

We could see anywhere from a dusting to up to an inch of accumulation this morning before the system moves out by the afternoon.

Meteorologists warn this could cause slick spots on area roads for your morning commute.  Use caution out on the roads this morning.

Areas Affected: Dubois; Scott; Washington; Jefferson; Clark; Trimble; Orange

As precipitation moves into the region this morning, an initial mix of rain and snow is expected. However, toward dawn
temperatures may cool enough for a period of light to moderate snow to develop.

Snow accumulations from a dusting up to an inch are possible mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces.  A few slick spots on roadways are possible, so motorists are urged to use caution while traveling this morning.
