Some Local Government Buildings Closing to the Public in Response to Spiking COVID-19 Cases

AREA WIDE -- The Orange County Commissioners have closed all county government buildings to the public due to the increase in coronavirus cases.

You can contact any county office by calling (812) 723 – 3600.

A jury trial was scheduled to begin today.  That’s been postponed due to the COVID restrictions.

It has been rescheduled for December 1st.

Jurors are asked to appear on the first at the same time they were previously given.

In HUNTINGBURG: 

In response to Governor Holcomb’s most recent address to the State of Indiana concerning new guidelines that will be in effect as of November 15, the City of Huntingburg will be operating under the following guidelines:

There will be limited access to Huntingburg City Hall. Only essential meetings will be held. If you have business to conduct with the City, please call ahead at (812) 683-2211 to see if it can be conducted over the phone. City employees will be available to answer phone calls and emails.

Customers making utility payments in person are asked to do so by using the drop box or the drive-through window on the east side of City Hall. Limited service for issues not related to utility payments will be conducted at Utility drive through window. Other issues will be addressed by appointment.

Public meetings such as City Council, Board of Public Works & Safety, etc. will continue as scheduled, but public attendance will be limited to allow for social distancing. Masks will be worn by all those attending meetings.

Please follow the preventative measures in place from the Dubois County Health Department to help control and contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Wear a mask, practice physical distancing, wash your hands, and stay at home when sick.
