Sleeping Driver Hits Pole in Jasper Walmart Parking Lot

Jasper - Early Monday morning, a sleepy driver struck a pole in the Jasper Walmart parking lot, causing $5,000 in damage to her own vehicle.

At approximately 4:25 a.m. Monday morning, Jasper Police was dispatched to the let after receiving a call from the 48-year-old driver. The driver stated that she fell asleep behind the wheel before hitting a pole.

No injuries were reported and no citations were issued. The 2018 Mazda CX3 sustained $5,000 worth of damage.
