Saturday Jasper Wreck Totals Two Vehicles, Sends Three to Hospital

Jasper - A Saturday wreck in Jasper which backed up traffic along Newton Street saw two vehicles totaled, three people sent to the hospital, and three citations.


The accident occurred Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. outside of the Marathon gas station north of the Downtown Square.

According to a Jasper Police Department report, a Dodge Journey driven by Farroll King, of Birdseye, was stopped and faced south in the middle turn lane in the 1900 block of Newton Street. King attempted to turn into the Marathon gas station parking lot.

King's Journey turned left in front of oncoming traffic and collided with a Kia Sorento driven by Alexiannah Hahn, of Evansville. King was cited for failure to yield the right of way. Farroll and Joy King were treated at the scene before being taken to Memorial Hospital for "multiple non-life threatening injuries".

In the second vehicle, Hahn was cited for driving with a suspended license; her passenger, Trenton Bass, of Jasper, was cited for failure to wear a seatbelt. Officers categorized both Hahn and Bass as having "multiple non-life threatening injuries.

Eye-witnesses reported two ambulances at the scene.

The Jasper Police Department was assisted by the Dubois County Sheriff's Department, the Indiana State Police, Memorial EMS, the Jasper Fire Department, and Bob Lueger's Towing Service.
