Rep. Lindauer: Tools to Help Local Law Enforcement Keep Us Safe

Local Sources - On Friday, Indiana Representative Shane Lindauer issued the following address on supporting local law enforcement.

Recently, I hosted a district listening tour to talk with constituents, employers and local officials. State Rep. Stephen Bartels of Eckerty  joined me during a stop at the Dubois County Security Center housing the Dubois County Sheriff's Office and county jail, which is being improved to curb overcrowding and provide space for treatment programs.

Dubois County Sheriff Tom Kleinhelter  is dedicated to keeping dangerous criminals off the streets while also implementing proven programs to reduce recidivism – a major contributor to jail overcrowding. He said new equipment at the center, like a touchless full body scanner, will help with efficiency and safety.

As your state representative, I supported investing in training programs, equipment and facility upgrades so Hoosier law enforcement can better protect and serve our communities. Indiana’s two-year budget makes strong investments on behalf of those who face danger to keep us safe.

To our local law enforcement officers, I thank you for your service. Please reach out to [email protected] or call 317-234-9028 with input on how I can better serve you and support your important role in fighting crime.
