POLICE: Mom Who Abandoned Baby in Bag May Not Have Known About Safe Haven Box Due to Language Barrier

FROM LOCAL SOURCES

SEYMOUR -- Seymour police have said they have made contact with a person of interest in the case involving a baby left in a bag on the city's southeast side on Tuesday.

Police say the man is not a suspect, but they do believe he may have information that could help in the investigation.

The baby was found alive along a fence row about 20 yards from the road and taken to an area hospital.

Police say the baby is healthy.

Investigators say the mother may not have known about the city’s safe haven box due to a language barrier.
