FROM LOCAL SOURCES

WASHINGTON -- The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane restrictions for the I-69 interchange at U.S. 50 in Washington. Beginning on or around Monday, Sept. 9, contractors will close one lane of I-69 both north and southbound from mile markers 61 to 63 for subgrade patching and pavement repairs. This will include the ramps north and southbound on the north side of U.S. 50. During this project crews will make repairs to both the sub surface of the roadway and driving surface.

Restrictions will be in place around the clock throughout the life of the operation. The ramps will be restricted to 10-foot lanes with a 1-foot shoulder. One lane of I-69 in both the north and southbound lanes will remain open at all times. Work is schedule to last until the end of October, weather permitting.

INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
