JASPER -- 444 people turned out to cast their ballot Tuesday at the Courthouse Annex, according to local election officials.

County Clerk Amy Kippenbrock reports it was constantly busy, but voters only had brief wait times.

"We, traditionally in Dubois County, have a high number for early voting in-person and, I know our numbers will shift a little bit because we do have a good number of early voting by mail already," Kippenbrock explains.  "We have sent out [over] 1,900 ballots and that's more than we did even in the Spring."

The Annex will be open today until 6 p.m. Hours for the rest of the week are from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
