FROM LOCAL SOURCES

STATEWIDE -- The Indiana Department of Health has confirmed the state's first flu-related death of the flu season.

The patient is a Marion County resident, but privacy law prevents the release of more information.

The state health commissioner calls it "a tragic reminder" of how serious the flu can be.

The CDC recommends everyone six months of age and older get a flu shot every year.
