STATEWIDE -- Marching Bands in Dubois County and across the state are feeling the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Indiana State School Music Association has announced marching band is cancelled for the upcoming school year.

In a statement, association officials say "marching band events would place an uncontrollable health risk on everyone involved."

While there will be no competitions this school year,  bands will still be allowed to hold camps and perform at school functions.
