PLAINVILLE -- A burn ban is in place in Daviess County but that didn’t stop a field fire from growing out of control.
Fire crews responded to the area of CR 900 in Plainville Wednesday on a report of a large field fire being driven by high winds.
A second field fire was reported shortly after crews arrived. This one just to the west of the original blaze.
Fire department photos from the scene shows acre after acre scorched by the flames. Huge plumes of smoke rose high into the sky.
We don’t know exactly how many acres burned in the fire or how it started.
Remember, a Burn Ban is in place in Daviess County due to the dry, windy conditions.
