Memorial Hospital to Host Two Community Health Events in July

JASPER -- Memorial Hospital will be offering two different health screenings for the community in July.

On Wednesday, July 11th, the local hospital is partnering with the Jasper Chamber of Commerce for a public health screening in the Health and Wellness Classroom at the hospital’s Southside office.

That’s at 1100 West 12th Avenue in Jasper.

The event runs from 5:45 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. on July 11th.

You must be 18 or older to be screened.

The tests include height and weight, body mass index, waist circumference, blood pressure, cholesterol, a blood glucose and chemistry panel.

Fast for 12 hours prior to the screening. It will take about 15 minutes.  Pre registration is required.Visit www.mhhcc.org and click on health screenings.

And Memorial is offering screenings for prostate cancer on Thursday, July 12th from 6 – 8 a.m. at the Southside office.

About 1 in 7 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime.

While prostate cancer can be very serious, screening helps get an early diagnosis.

This screening is for men ages 50 and older.Results will be mailed to you.

The cost of the screening is $20.Additional optional tests are available.

No appointment or registration is necessary there.
