Memorial Hospital and Anthem Meet Face-to-Face This Week But Still No Agreement

JASPER -- Memorial Hospital says they have not yet reached an agreement with Anthem in the contract dispute between the two entities.

Hospital official say the two sides met face-to-face on Wednesday and they will continue discussions with Anthem.

The current contract between Memorial and Anthem expires on November 27th.

Hospital officials say Anthem gives 3% rate increases to other hospitals each year.  .  . But Memorial hasn’t received an increase in the last 20 years.

Anthem says Memorial’s rates are already higher than other facilities of its size in the state…. And they want a $5 million increase on top of it.

UPDATE REGARDING ANTHEM AND MEMORIAL HOSPITAL NEGOTIATION- 11-21-19

Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center met face-to-face on Wednesday with Anthem. We have not yet reached an agreement; however, discussions are continuing. We are making every effort to meet an equitable solution over the course of the next week.
