WASHINGTON DC -- Maureen Braun, owner of Finishing Touches in Jasper and wife of U.S. Senator Mike Braun is back from Washington where she got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help decorate the White House for Christmas last week.
"To me, it was the Super Bowl of decorating," Braun tells news director David Shepherd. "I was just so honored to be asked to join the volunteer group. Thousands of people apply, and only a 125 - 150 are chosen."

While Mrs. Braun can’t share all of her experiences last week at the White House, she can talk about time she spent with First Lady Melania Trump.
"Melania, over the weekend, tweeted some pictures and I was in one of the pictures with my group. It was so much fun. It was a bit tedious, and skilled. [Decorators] looked the decorations over to make sure you did a really great job." She added, "I love Christmas anyway, but just to have the honor of being able to be part of that whole volunteer group was just amazing."
