Man Arrested On OWI After Crashing into Mentor Home

MENTOR -- A Huntingburg man has been charged with operating while intoxicated after his truck ran into a home in near Mentor Thursday night.

Police were called to the report of a pickup that had crashed into a home on the 9600 block of State Road 64 at about 10:23 p.m.

Police learned that 47-year-old Woodie Edwards was westbound on State Road 64 when his truck went off the south side of the road.

The truck struck the residence causing damage to the foundation of the home as well as an 2011 Chevrolet Impala parked in the garage.

Edwards was taken to Memorial Hospital for medical clearance where he tested .09 percent blood alcohol content. He was charged with operating while intoxicated and booked into the Dubois County Security Center.He has since posted bond pending a court appearance on May 2, 2018, in Dubois County Superior Court.
