Man Arrested in Huntingburg on Christmas Facing Multiple Felonies After Trying to Escape

HUNTINGBURG -- An Evansville man was arrested in Huntingburg on Christmas night following a report of an intoxicated driver and now he’s facing a list of felonies.

Police were called out to the Huck’s gas station just before 9 p.m. Tuesday.

They say Maiquer Salvador appeared to be highly intoxicated and he failed sobriety tests.  He had a blood alcohol content of .18, according to arrest reports.

During his arrest, police say Salvador tried to escape from the squad car multiple times, kicking out a window and allegedly attempting to kick officers.

He’s also accused of threatening those officers.

Salvador is charged with OWI – Enhanced to a felony due to a prior conviction.

Other felony charges include Attempted Battery on a Public Safety Official, Attempted Escape, Obstruction of Justice and Intimidation Directed Toward a Public Safety Official.

He’s also charged with misdemeanor counts of Resisting Law Enforcement, Disorderly Conduct and Driving While Suspended.
