Low Water Pressure Triggers Boil Water Advisory in Loogootee

Loogootee - The City of Loogootee Water Works Department is repairing a water main break at the intersection of Walnut Street and Southgate Street. Customers affected by the water main repairs are as follows:

 All of country place apartments.

 Pine street, walnut street, poplar street.

 Red Bud Street and Southgate Street.

 All customers in the area east of Cedar Street to Southgate Street in this section.

These customers are now under a precautionary boil water order. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) require all public water supplies to issue a boil order advisory when the water pressure drops below 20psi in the water main.

Boil order instructions are as follows;

 Immediately after water pressure is restored, run cold water from a sink or tub until clear water flows from the faucet.

 Boil the drinking water for 5 minutes prior to consumption.

 It is recommended that all water used for consumption, cooking, and oral hygiene be brought to a full boil for 5 minutes. It is not necessary to boil water for other uses.
