Local Towns and Cities to Receive USDA Rural Development Grants

AREA WIDE -- Some area towns are receiving loans and grants by the federal Department of Agriculture.

The funds will go for water and waste development projects in rural areas of the state.

Town of Oaktown, Knox County:  USDA Rural Development has approved a loan of $473,000.00

City of Petersburg, Pike County:  USDA Rural Development has approved a loan of $4,615,000.00 and a grant of $7,553,000.00

Town of Newport, Vermillion County:  USDA Rural Development has approved a loan of $1,041,000.00 and a grant of $1,502,500.00

City of Cannelton, Perry County:  USDA Rural Development has approved a loan of $2,462,000.00 and a grant of $6,809,000.00
