Local Man Arrested Following Battery at Huntingburg Chinese Restaurant

HUNTINGBURG -- A Jasper man was arrested Friday after a fight at a Chinese restaurant in Huntingburg.

Police were called out to the China Wok on East Fourth Street just before 10:30 p.m.  They say 39-year-old Christopher Ham had been drinking when he got into an argument with an employee at the restaurant over his order.

The worker was injured in the altercation and there was damage inside the restaurant.

Ham is charged with Battery, Public Intoxication, and Criminal Mischief.

The victim told responding officers Ham took his phone when he tried to dial 911.  For that, he’s charged with Interfering in the Reporting of a Crime.
