Local Lawmakers Wear Sneakers With Suits to Kick Off National Cancer Prevention Month in February

STATEHOUSE -- Two of our local state lawmakers paired sneakers with their suits to raise cancer awareness.

State Reps. Stephen Bartels of Eckerty and Shane Lindauer of Jasper made the choice in casual footwear this week to help kick off February as National Cancer Prevention Month.

The Suits and Sneakers Challenge is an annual event hosted by the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

The Cancer Society says the use of tobacco is linked to many types of cancer and recommends avoiding it to greatly reduce your risk of getting cancer.
