Local ICU Capacity Numbers Begin to Improve, Although Concern Remains as COVID Cases Continue to Surge

AREAWIDE -- There has been some improvement in our district's ICU bed capacity numbers.

24% of the ICU beds in District 10 are currently available, as of the Monday afternoon update from the state.  While the number is still cause for concern, especially with the latest surge in local COVID-19 cases, it’s much better than earlier last week when the number was closer to 10%.

Our district has plenty of ventilators for now: About 77% available.

District 10 includes Dubois and counties west including Evansville.

Our eastern counties are in District 8.  Half of the ICU beds there are currently available.  District 8 has plenty of ventilator capacity as well.
