8:39 AM THURSDAY: From Andy Arehart with Astro Security: Once you get off the highway the roads are a little more slick. Some of them I have passed I’ve been covered in snow and ice.

8:15 AM THURSDAY: From Andy Arehart with Astro Security:  The roads at 64 and 231 in Huntingburg have a little slush on but it is mostly wet from the salt. As long as you’re careful they are not very slick.

8:10 AM THURSDAY:  Highway 64 and 161 intersection.  Andy Arehart with Astro Security reports, "West of the intersection has slush in a little bit of ice, east of the intersection the highways are a little wet but much much better."

We're still continuing to monitor conditions and will adjust the number of #YellowTrucks as needed. 

 Crews will be working overnight, so be sure to give yourself extra time and don't crowd the plow.

5:20 PM State troopers are currently working an accident on Interstate 64 at the 55 mile marker in the westbound lanes. Be prepared for temporary closings and lane restrictions.

5:02 PM Indiana State Police released the following statement.... 

"The roadways throughout the Jasper District are becoming slick and hazardous. Please slow down and allow extra time in your travels. If you don’t have to get out please stay home."

4:20 PM Vincennes University Jasper Campus - Closed Wednesday 

4:14 PM Kimball International Manufacturing and Warehouse - 1 HOUR DELAY THURSDAY (Jasper and Santa Claus)

4:05 PM Vincennes Jasper and Gibson County Center CLOSING EARLY. 

"We will be closing the Vincennes Jasper campus at 4 p.m. today. Classes should finish at 3:45 p.m. Evening classes have been transitioned to virtual or will be rescheduled. Students should watch for additional information from faculty about evening classes. VU's Gibson location is closing at 4 p.m. and all activities are cancelled."

3:46 PM Transportation officials have placed Dubois, Spencer, and Orange counties under a "TRAVEL WATCH."

This means that "conditions are threatening to the safety of the public. During a "watch" local travel advisory, only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended, and emergency action plans should be implemented by businesses, schools, government agencies, and other organizations."
