LIVE NEWS BLOG: Severe Weather Moves Through The Area This Evening

[9:05 PM] -- Special Weather Statement issued by the National Weather Service.  Take cover.

* Areas Affected: Harrison; Crawford; Orange; Washington

At 904 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Carefree Town, moving north at 30 mph. Winds in excess of 40 mph are possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include... Stampers Creek, Marengo, Milltown, Hardinsburg, Livonia, Fredericksburg, Trotter Crossing, Shorts Corner, Valeene and Switzer Crossroads.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency.

They can relay your report to the National Weather Service office in Louisville.

[6:41 PM] News Director David Shepherd has activated our emergency Live Blog for tonight's severe weather threat.  Damaging winds are the biggest threat with these storms, however, a tornado can not be ruled out.

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH remains in effect until 1:00 a.m. EDT for Dubois, Crawford and Orange Counties.

David Shepherd and Justin Howard are monitoring the weather.  We will update you as needed.
