KNOW BEFORE YOU GO! INDOT Launches Multiple Road Projects Monday, Expect Closures and Restrictions

AREA WIDE -- INDOT crews will begin multiple road projects in several area counties Monday.  



CRAWFORD COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a lane closure on State Road 145 for a bridge project.  

Beginning on or around Monday, July 6, contractors will begin restricting the southbound lane of the S.R. 145 bridge spanning Fleming Creek, about a tenth of a mile north of S.R. 164. Crews will be performing a bridge deck overlay project.

During the project, traffic will be controlled by temporary signal and one 14-foot lane will be open at all times. Wider loads will need to seek an alternate route. Work on phase one is expected to be complete by the end of July depending upon weather conditions.

DAVIESS COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a road closure on State Road 558 for a pipe replacement project.


Beginning on or around 4 p.m. Monday, July 6 INDOT maintenance crews will close S.R. 558 near the intersection of U.S. 231 to replace a drainage culvert. The work will take place overnight and only one pipe will be excavated.

Depending upon weather conditions the work is expected to take one night with the road to open to traffic by 8 a.m. the next morning.

DAVIESS COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a closure on State Road 645 for a pipe replacement project.

Beginning on or around Wednesday, July 8 INDOT maintenance crews will close S.R. 645 near Burns City about two miles east of the intersection of U.S. 231. During this project workers will be replacing a drainage culvert, requiring full excavation.

Work is expected to take about two days depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for local traffic up to the point of closure, however all through traffic should seek an alternate route using the nearest state maintained highways, U.S. and interstate routes.

DAVIESS COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a closure on State Road 57 for a pipe replacement project.

Beginning on or around Monday, July 13 INDOT maintenance crews will close S.R. 57 in Elnora from near the intersection of S.R. 58 to the intersection of County Road 1600 North. During this project workers will be replacing two drainage culverts, requiring full excavation.

Work is expected to take about two days depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for local traffic up to the point of closure, however all through traffic should use the official detour following S.R. 58, S.R. 67 and U.S. 231.

PERRY COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a closure on State Road 145 for a structure replacement project.  

Beginning on or around Monday, July 6, contractors will close S.R. 145 about three miles north of the intersection at S.R. 37. Crews will be performing a drainage structure replacement that will require excavation across all lanes of traffic.

During the project, the road will be closed around the clock. Work is expected to take about 14 days depending upon weather conditions. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure, but all other traffic should use the official detour following S.R. 37 to S.R. 145.
